Data from crypto analytics platform CryptoQuant shows that XRP’s spot trading volume on major exchanges increased significantly during the month, reflecting renewed market participation and improving liquidity.
Binance Leads XRP Trading Activity
Binance recorded more than $7.26 billion in XRP spot trading volume in August, making it the largest contributor among major exchanges and pushing the token’s monthly activity to its strongest level since February.
South Korea’s Upbit ranked second, with XRP trading volume reaching about $4.68 billion during the month. Bithumb Korea followed with approximately $2.59 billion, while Bybit and Gate.io recorded around $1.40 billion and $1.33 billion, respectively.
The increase comes after XRP experienced a sharp price rally in August, encouraging traders to return to the market and boosting activity across several exchanges.
Liquidity Improves
The rise in trading volume also points to improving liquidity for XRP. Higher liquidity generally allows larger buy and sell orders to be executed with less impact on the token’s price.
XRP’s stronger spot-market activity also coincided with increased interest in exchange-traded products. XRP ETFs recorded a record monthly trading volume of more than $723 million in August, according to separate market data.
The combination of stronger spot trading and ETF activity suggests that investor interest in XRP picked up considerably during August. Whether the momentum continues, however, will depend largely on XRP’s price performance and broader cryptocurrency market conditions.
